Since October Harold Scholz is a member of the German Federation for applied Photocatalysis (FAP) of the VdMi e.V. (German association of producers of mineral pigments).
In addition to public relations towards consumers and politicians, the federation dedicates its activities – among others – to the promotion of photocatalytic applications with titanium dioxide in the construction industry, the coating industry and many other sectors. The specific aim is to reduce harmful substances – as for example nitrogen dioxide – through a chemical reaction by means of photocatalytic titanium dioxide in an environmentally friendly way. Additional properties of photoactive construction material could mainly be useful in the construction industry. In this field of application surfaces treated with photocatalytic titanium dioxide prove to be more resistant against soiling.
