Wood Plastic Composites

WPC, wood plastic composite, or in German wood-plastic composite, makes it possible to combine the best of several material worlds. If wood fibers are combined with plastics, excellent alternative materials to natural wood can be produced from waste materials from the wood industry such as sawdust, wood chips or other processed wood waste, as well as recycled plastic materials. These are often more weather-resistant, durable and resilient than the materials that replace them more and more successfully.

High color stability in WPC

Pigments enable excellent and homogeneous coloring of the wood fibre-plastic composite material. Even at low doses, they give the products color, appearance and, more importantly, weatherability. We are happy to present from Bayferrox^®- and produce powder mixtures corresponding to other pigments in shades of brown and gray.

The wood components, or in particular the lignin components, turn gray without appropriate protection against UV radiation, and the plastic components in turn tend to yellow or chalk under the influence of outdoor weather.

Extending the lifespan

Pigments therefore extend the life of WPC planks and beautify them. And all of this can also be done by pigments that, as in the case of Colortherm^®-Pigments are made from over 90% recycled materials.
