100 years of partnership – 100 years of iron oxide pigments from Lanxess made in Germany

Congratulations on this impressive anniversary – 100 years of synthetic iron oxide from Uerdingen using the Laux process.

What a success story: Even after a century, LANXESS Inorganic Pigments (IPG) market and quality leader in the pigments sector – an achievement that deserves the highest respect.

At almost 50 years old, Bayferrox has long become a true institution as a brand. Although primarily known in the B2B sector, the brand's recognition and relevance can certainly be compared to brands like Haribo or Nivea – an integral part of the industry that's hard to ignore.

We would like to pay special tribute to all IPG employees who, over the generations, have played a key role in building this brand and ensuring its long-term development.

We are proud and grateful to be able to look back on a partnership that has spanned a century and been marked by success. The founder and great-grandfather of the current owners, Karl Anton Rudolf Scholz, could hardly have imagined that a single initial meeting would lead to a collaboration lasting over 100 years.

And even today, in an increasingly demanding market environment, LANXESS IPG impressively demonstrates: Tradition and innovation are not mutually exclusive. Despite the Bayferrox products, which have enjoyed consistent success for decades, the company remains modern and forward-looking through continuous innovation and adaptability. Especially in the current climate, we should particularly value and highlight this strength.

Here’s to many more years together – we look forward to the future!
