Scholz donates for a good cause
For the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the University Medicine Essen Foundation, in collaboration with the Clinic Clowns, has relaunched the campaign "One Goal – One Smile!" For every goal scored by the German team, companies and private individuals can donate a specific amount to bring a smile to the faces of young patients.
We support this campaign for the benefit of young patients and hope for many goals from the German team during the World Cup.

Update (20 July 2026):
We had high hopes and kept our fingers crossed – but in the end, the German national football team were knocked out in the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup. Nevertheless, the team managed to score a total of 14 goals across their matches. For every goal, we made a donation as part of the ‘One Goal – One Smile!’ campaign and are delighted to have been able to contribute to a good cause. The funds raised will benefit the young patients at Essen University Hospital and support the invaluable work of the hospital clowns, whose visits bring joy and a welcome change of pace to everyday life in the hospital. We would like to thank the Essen University Hospital Foundation for this wonderful initiative and are delighted that we were able to help put a smile on the children’s faces. Because every goal counted – both on the pitch and for a good cause.
