Company fire station at Holcim Mannersdorf cement plant

In Mannersdorf, Lower Austria, a new company fire station was built with CO₂-reduced, red-coloured exposed concrete. Scholz Farbpigment AT GmbH supplied BAYFERROX® Rot 130 red iron oxide powder pigments for this purpose, which, together with Holcim EcoPlanet RC Cement, met the design and ecological requirements.

The prefabricated parts were produced by Austrian manufacturer Maba, and the concrete surface was designed to look like a broom stroke. A high proportion of recycled aggregates also contributed to reducing the ecological footprint.

The building planned by AW Architekten ZT GmbH combines functionality with a contemporary appearance and shows the possibilities of modern exposed concrete facades.
