Haiming Tunnel Chain | Red asphalt leads to energy savings

As part of a roadway renovation by motorway operator ASFINAG, red-coloured asphalt was installed in both directional lanes in the Haiming tunnel chain of the A12 motorway. On the one hand, to increase road safety, as red is a signal colour and therefore drivers drive more attentively, and on the other hand to achieve energy savings in lighting, as the red asphalt reflects light better. A total of 2,500 tons of paint asphalt were installed, which was coloured with IOX R03. A noise-reducing split matrix asphalt was mixed with polymer-modified bitumen. An exciting project with Fröschl AG & Co KG was implemented as a construction company.
