Today, we are reaching a new milestone: we have received a verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) according to ISO 14025 and EN 15804 for our red, yellow, and black liquid iron oxide pigments.
Your key advantage: In the analyzed EPD metrics, our iron oxide slurries show lower GWP and ECI values compared to the benchmarked competitor products. The EPD results document the environmental performance of our iron oxide slurries in a transparent and verifiable manner. Compared to other products in the liquid pigment sector, our iron oxide slurries demonstrate significantly lower GWP (Global Warming Potential) and ECI (Environmental Cost Indicator) values.
The ECI is used as an additional indicator within the Dutch assessment method to quantify the costs that would be incurred to compensate for the environmental impact of a product. This indicator is expressed in currency units (Euro/cents) and ideally allows for easier comparability between different products in a segment. Published and verified
Not all EPDs are the same. The crucial difference lies in publication by a recognized, independent program operator, such as the MRPI in the Netherlands or the Institute for Construction and Environment (IBU) in Germany. Why is this so important for your tenders and project planning?
While an externally verified EPD has a certain level of validity, it may be treated as internal company environmental information if certain formal requirements for standard compliance have not been met. Only publication by a program operator guarantees that all formal requirements of the EN 15804 and ISO 14025 standards are fully satisfied.
